Reporting to the Manager, Mining, you will be part of the Engineering Department. Given the remote location and scale of the operations, you may be required to broaden your scope of responsibilities and demonstrate proficiency and autonomy in relevant areas. You will lead the underground technical services team to support and integrate the different departmental visions to achieve the common goal of analyzing, maintaining and optimizing productivity and profitability of the operation. You will undertake these tasks while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Promote strong health and safety standards by ensuring compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and applicable governmental policies and regulations, while actively supporting the use of Health & Safety systems to ensure the safety of all workers;Lead the Engineering team by setting a clear vision, aligning objectives and managing technical professionals to deliver efficient, high‑quality outputs in support of divisional strategic goals;Maintain engineering services required to support underground operations, including mine design, short‑ to long‑term planning, MRMR (Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves) estimation, drilling and blasting, field survey services, mine infrastructure, ventilation support and rock mechanics;Oversee LOM, ELOM, and Budget planning exercises in alignment with the division roadmap and corporate guidelines;Drive continuous improvement of the mine plan while coordinating activities and resources to deliver accurate planning outputs and forecasts, and identifying and implementing cost‑saving opportunities to enhance financial performance and productivity;Ensure mine systems are designed and controlled as per applicable regulations and internal standards;Coach, mentor and develop the Engineering team, fostering technical and leadership skills to support career growth and succession planning;Prepare the team for the mine construction and production start-up (Operation readiness);Keep department at the forefront of new technologies, following best practices in the mining industry.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent;12 years of mining experience with 4 years of management and supervision experience;Primarily underground mining experience;Exposure to permafrost and arctic conditions are considered an asset;Strong exposure to technical services and operations;Experience with feasibility study, mine start-up and production ramp-up;Professional designation (P.Eng.) in the Northwest Territories/Nunavut (NAPEG) or another jurisdiction and able to quickly obtain designation;Leadership, interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills;Self‑motivated, collaborative team player with strong strategic thinking and a positive attitude;Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word &PowerPoint;Knowledge of Deswik is considered an asset.Your Work ScheduleSchedule: flexible FIFO schedules available (7x7, 10x10, or 14x14);Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
