We have an exciting opportunity for a 5S Coordinator to join our team in Langley, BC.This is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth.Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday to FridayEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide training to employees on the 5S methodology, tools, and techniques.
  • Address issues and obstacles during 5S implementation, collaborating with team members to find practical solutions.
  • Coordinate and execute the implementation of the 5S system across all areas covered by the program.
  • Conduct regular 5S audits and address non-compliance to set standards.
  • Report to management on the implementation, operation, and improvement of 5S in the organization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of 5S activities, including audit results, action plans, and progress reports.
  • Ensure adherence to set standards within designated areas.
  • Motivate and inspire colleagues to enhance their workplaces.
  • Lead 5S audits and post-audit meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts related to 5S, seeking opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimize workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance records, training materials, evaluations, and feedback. Generate reports on training metrics, completion rates, and training effectiveness for management review.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a relevant field (industrial engineering, operations management, business administration, or a related discipline).
  • Previous experience in a role related to process improvement, lean manufacturing, quality assurance, or operations management is beneficial.
  • Experience with implementing 5S or other lean methodologies within a manufacturing or industrial setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience with change management principles and strategies to overcome resistance to change and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Strong understanding of the principles and practices of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and other lean manufacturing tools and techniques as well as change management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are important for identifying areas for improvement, analyzing process inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a cross-functional team and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization to implement 5S initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training and facilitating group discussions.
  • Training on being a 5S Practitioner is an asset.
