Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of Women's Health Ambulatory Care Clincs. The Unit Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of materials, systems, financial and human resources to ensure provision of safe, high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner by providing innovative leadership and fostering a professional practice climate.Description:The Unit Manager (UM), Ambulatory Care Clinics, plays a vital leadership role in the provision of high-risk tertiary level care to patients in the Women's Health Portfolio. Reporting directly to the Patient Care Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operational management and overall performance of several specialized ambulatory clinics, which is achieved thorough presence and visibility in the Clinics. The role encompasses oversight of clinic flow, recruitment and supervision of frontline staff, waitlist management, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives. The Unit Manager ensures delivery of safe, efficient, and patient centered care, and is responsible for on-call support within the Women's Health Portfolio. The UM collaborates in development and oversight of the Clinics operating and capital budgets by identifying resources needs (human, material, and equipment). The UM leads the implementation of provincial, zone, and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives at the Clinic level. It is expected that the UM will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:Must have strong clinical skills with experience in clinical practice, leadership, facilitation, coaching, people management, change management, and quality improvement. Knowledge of Ambulatory care is required. Demonstrated experience in leadership role (e.g. charge nurse, nurse educator, etc.). Bachelor's degree in nursing or allied health required. Current BCLS-HCP required. Strong physical stamina and ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Comfortable navigating large facilities and transitioning between physical positions frequently. As the program is spread across the Royal Alexandra Campus, this role requires a professional who is comfortable with significant walking, regular transitions between seated, standing, and other physical positions, and frequent movement across various departments or buildings.

Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of AHS, Alberta's healthcare structure, and of collective agreements is preferred. Proficient use and understanding of advanced applications such as Connect Care, Outlook, Teams and any Microsoft Office applications an asset. Experience with Environment of Scheduling Personnel and e-People an asset.
