In addition, Lincoln Electric is committed to the development of new and innovative technologies with value added products and services that respond to customer needs.Business UnitThe Automation Division is responsible for providing engineered solutions, integrated systems, automation programming and technical support to Lincoln Electric’s ongoing sales efforts specifically focused upon fume extraction, flexible and hard automation products and services.Automation is further responsible for the provision of technical support to direct end-user customers for service / maintenance contracts and warrantee related solutions, as well as, troubleshooting and problem solving with respect to customer issues.The Automation Team is expected to deliver results while contributing to Lincoln Electric’s ongoing business activities and priorities, as well as, meeting internal and external customer requirements in a timely, discreet and ethical manner.Major Responsibilities
- Inspecting and/or verifying incoming material, material in process (WIP), and finished product
- Request changes to Engineering prints and Specifications in controlled manner
- Routinely audit production parts for compliance with specifications
- Participate in ISO 9001: 2015 internal & third party audits
- Identify critical Vendor parts issues and create Receiving Inspection activity list to prioritize checks for purchased components based on current& potential problems with purchased parts
- Maintain& update the key part listing on a regular basis, especially in introduction of new product
- Visit local sub-contractors to verify key dimensions for our new parts for new launches and advise the vendor on the improvements required for process
- Travel 10% to other Automation Build Sites as requested by Managers
- Check, identify & return rejected parts & component to the Suppliers
- Ensure all quarantined parts are routed to designated hold area and scrap parts to scrap bin on a daily basis
- To monitor/ test/ verify new vendor products to ensure compliance to the specification per print
- Formulate reports, provide metrics and/or dashboards at weekly meetings to track and show the impact quality has on the Division’s operational efficiencies
- Releasing the final product in a timely manner
- Perform housekeeping to ensure the safety and clean environment of areas of QA activities
- Ensure the maintenance and preventive maintenance of all equipment and tools used for QA measurements
- Must understand the operation and use of all equipment used for quality assurance procedures
- Will drive and develop specifications and procedures to implement the necessary requirements to meet the Divisions Quality Standards
- Will be responsible to establish, communicate and clarify what is expected from all departments within the Division to meet Quality Standards
- Fully abide and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of nature resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
- Participate cooperatively in the Merit Rating/Global Performance Management Program.
- Continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implanting continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Adhere to any Compliance policies and requirements.
- Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Manager or senior management staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Must have a College Diploma, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license, passport and vehicle
- Must understand the operation and use of all equipment used as per required procedures
- Must be familiar with all specifications and procedures used for Quality Assurance and Manufacturing procedures
- Excellent attendance required.
- Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to use cranes, lifting straps, rigs, forklifts etc., to safely position parts for inspection
- Able to open 3D models using Solidworks to measure dimensions or check features
- Excellent understanding of machining practices and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
