We will be expanding our volume and operating hours and adding a pharmacist to the team.The Central Fill Pharmacist plays a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation of prescriptions within a high‑volume, technology‑enabled environment. This role focuses on clinical verification, quality assurance, workflow oversight and regulatory compliance with automated dispensing and packaging technology. The pharmacist collaborates closely with pharmacy technicians, operations staff, and partner pharmacy teams to support timely, reliable medication fulfillment.Central fill pharmacists are essential to scaling pharmacy services, improving accuracy, and freeing up community teams to focus on patient‑facing care.   • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the PEI College of Pharmacists.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Prior experience in community, central fill, or hospital pharmacy is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of dispensing systems, automation, and pharmacy information systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and comfort working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Your RoleWhile we all work to provide services to clients, we all play different roles to make this happen. You'll contribute by:Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical review and verification of prescriptions transmitted from community pharmacy partners.
  • Assess appropriateness of therapy, potential interactions, allergies, and dosing accuracy.
  • Resolve clinical issues by collaborating with prescribers and community pharmacy teams.
  • Identify opportunities and strategies to increase central fill adoption
  • Identify service opportunities for pharmacy teams to deliver (during clinical review and verification.
  • Oversee automated dispensing, packaging, and labelling processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, efficiency and service orientation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and reduce error rates.
  • Provide guidance to pharmacy technicians and support staff working within automated workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and productivity targets.
  • Participate in inventory management oversight, including narcotics handling and reconciliation.
  • Maintain compliance with provincial and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation, record‑keeping, and audit readiness.
  • Support controlled substance management in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with external pharmacy teams regarding prescription clarifications, clinical concerns, and workflow updates.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process‑improvement discussions.
Working Conditions
  • High‑volume, technology‑driven environment with automated dispensing and packaging equipment.
  • Standing, walking, and light physical activity are required during shifts.
