We are seeking a Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a client’s supply chain transformation initiatives within provincial healthcare environments. In this role, you will bring deep expertise in end-to-end supply chain processes, with a particular focus on process mapping, process optimization, and the design of efficient, scalable operating models.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE
- Serve as the Supply Chain SME, providing strategic and operational guidance across clinical and non-clinical functions
- Lead supply chain transformation initiatives within healthcare settings, including process optimization, optimization of existing systems, and performance improvement programs
- Assess current-state hospital supply chain processes (e.g., procurement, inventory management, distribution of medical supplies), including detailed process mapping, and design scalable, best-practice future-state models
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and procurement stakeholders to align supply chain strategies with patient care and operational objectives
- Provide expertise in demand planning, inventory optimization, logistics, and supplier performance management
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics (e.g., stock availability, waste reduction, service levels) and develop actionable insights to improve efficiency and patient outcomes
- Identify risks within hospital supply chains, including critical supply shortages, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of care
- Mentor and advise client teams, ensuring knowledge transfer and sustainable capability development across hospital networks
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS/CSCP) preferred
- Extensive experience in supply chain management, ideally within consulting or complex enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution
- Proven experience in process mapping, process analysis, and designing optimized future-state workflows
- Proven experience leading supply chain transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Experience with inventory optimization, demand planning, and KPI development
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and senior leadership teams
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and a structured, process-driven approach
- Experience with ERP and supply chain systems (e.g., Meditech, SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder or similar)
- Experience working in healthcare or public sector environments is considered an asset
