Job Category: OperationsDegree Level: High/Secondary School/ GED (US)High School GraduateJob Description:Location: Dundas, ONStart Date: May 2026Hourly Rate: $23.73Vacancy Status Disclosure: Temporary Full-time (Seasonal Replacement).AI Statement: Carmeuse does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to screen, assess, or select applicants.The Summer Student will work on assigned projects with limited or no supervision while performing general manual labor tasks/housekeeping of production areas, various entry-level production positions, operation of material handling equipment and mobile equipment ensuring the work is effective and performed in accordance with all relevant codes and safety standards.Responsibilities:General manual labor and housekeeping of production areasPerforms various entry-level production dutiesVisual inspection/operation of equipment such as packaging equipment, belts, conveyors, screws, elevator, scales, dust collectors, fines, dust bins and product binsVisual inspection of lime products and identification of nonconforming productInspection and operation of mobile equipment that may include front-end loader, bobcat, forklift, and various yard trucksWorks co-operatively with other employees with a minimum of supervisionCompletion of documents and recordsMonitors work done for adherence to legislated requirementsReport production/electrical/mechanical issues to Supervision immediatelyMust be able to properly use Personal Protective Equipment, such as fall protection equipment, gloves, respirators, face shield, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed bootsAble to properly use confined space equipment and follow procedures for entering confined spacesAny other duties as assigned by managementRequirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation to and from Dundas site
Must be enrolled full-time in college or university and returning in the fall
Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision
Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work (up to 50 pounds)
Ability to work outside in a hot, dusty, noisy environment
Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment such as dust mask or respirator
Must be a team player
Must be able to read, write and understand both verbal and written instructions in English, as well as some computer knowledge.
Excellent work ethic, interpersonal skills & communication skills
Manufacturing and equipment experience is an asset
Flexible to work shifts as required
