- To report directly to the Manager, Application Resource an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to business unit
- Performs internal and customer demonstrations and training of welding equipment and consumables, local and at the customer sites
- Provides best practice installation support, which includes machine start-up, training to customers.
- Tracks and reports consumables levels; identifies needs for demos and seminars; orders consumables based on input from manager
- Tracks and plans calibration and certification of (measuring) equipment
- Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
- To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company
- To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives
- To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Manager, Application Resource Center in a timely and professional manner
- Setting up welding equipment
- Machining
- Preparing weld samples
- Assembling marketing weld kits
- Maintaining cleanliness of all ARC equipment
- Managing shipping, receiving, and organizing customer samples
- Monitoring and replenishing minimum quantities of base metals and gases
- Preparing demo kits, including LSO samples, which vary in complexity and time requirements
- Conducting semi-automatic demos using pre-developed solutions and scripts
- Welding technician diploma or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of previous experience working directly with a Technical Welding background
- Ability to optimize machine settings
- Good written (i.e. writing activities report) and spoken English
- Extensive ability to repair machines and/or describe the issue to a service provider
- Good communication skills to communicate with various stakeholders
- Good hands-on skills on Vertical Mill, CNC, Lathe for plate beveling, sectioning and mechanical samples preparation
- Readiness to learn if skills are not available
- Hands-on experience on metallographic samples preparation
- Hands-on experience on various destructive testing methods: tensile, guided bend test, macro, fillet break test, Charpy
- Basic application knowledge of weld heat treatment processes as a part of procedure qualification
- Experience coordinating non-destructive testing activities with the third party
- Readiness to learn if any of the skills are not available
- Enhancing customer experience by sending standardized demo invitations and follow-up communications
- Preparing mechanical samples for procedure qualifications
- Maintains a customer focus by demonstrating exceptional service to both external and internal customers
