Reporting directly to the President in this newly-created position, the Director of Finance is a visionary leader who will shape financial strategies, optimize systems, and deliver actionable insights that drive organizational success.Impactful ResponsibilitiesAs Director of Finance, you will:
  • Guide with Purpose: Inspire and direct the Finance team, fostering accountability and development.
  • Steer Strategic Growth: Partner with Senior Leadership to align financial strategy with organizational goals.
  • Streamline Financial Operations: Enhance ERP systems and reporting tools to bolster real-time decision-making.
  • Deliver Excellence: Review and produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Canadian and U.S. GAAP.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with international counterparts on consolidated statements and multi-currency transactions.
  • Lead Tax Compliance: Oversee Canadian and U.S. tax compliance while managing external accounting relationships for annual filings.
  • Optimize Cash Flow: Manage cash, FOREX transactions, and financing strategies for capital planning success.
  • Mitigate Risks: Supervise insurance policies and develop risk management frameworks to protect growth and innovation.
  • Focus on Projects: Provide financial insights for construction-based initiatives and high-level project management.

  • Education & Certification: University degree and CPA designation is mandatory.
  • Leadership Insight: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role driving strategy and team management.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and advanced Microsoft Office skills. Preference is given to candidates with ERP implementation experience.
  • Global Mindset: Familiarity with multi-currency transactions, parent/subsidiary ownership, and financial compliance across North America and Europe.
  • Growth & Detail Orientation: Ability to juggle strategic oversight with a detail-driven focus when needed.
  • Construction Knowledge: A hands-on understanding in a project-based or construction business is required.
