(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)YesJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Child & Family Services Consultant provides and coordinates the delivery of parent support services in a community-based outreach program; works in the community setting and clients' homes; facilitates education/support/skill development groups; provides direct and indirect screening, assessment, and supports for children, youth, and families experiencing social, behavioral, and/or emotional challenges.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceBachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care or in a field related to the growth and development of children, adolescents and families. One (1) year related experience. Current Level "C" Basic Life Saving Certificate. Knowledge of available programs and services and applicable legislation. Travel is a requirement of this job. Travel arrangements must meet the requirements of the program.Skills And Abilities
