
Int. Piping Designer

- Carries out moderate-to-advanced tasks, under supervision, related to layout and design of process equipment modules for oil and gas processing facilities
- Creates and develops 3D models, and piping designs
- Assists in the creation and development of detailed design of structural steel skids and pipe supports
- Revises existing designs based on vendor drawings and changes from stress analysis updates
- Manages design information and assembles checking packages
- Creates and develops layout drawings and detailing of piping
- Produces piping isometrics
- Produces structural drawings
- Produces fabrication drawings
- Receives and reviews design data and vendor information
- Calculates piping components and pre-orders materials
- Receives and incorporates design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines
- Collaborates with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and Fabrication Shop
- Provides weekly progress and status reports to Lead Designer
- Assists design leads and senior designers as required
- Assists and provides project-related training to junior personnel as required
- Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT), or Process Piping Design (PPD) certificate, or recognized equivalent combination of training and experience in piping design
- 5+ years’ experience (minimum) assisting in the creation of 3D models, and general layout drawings
- Strong design skills in piping systems, structural supports, and pressure vessels
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2020 or higher
- Strong skills in Cadworx 2020 or higher
- Fabrication shop designing experience is an asset
- Understanding of design and drafting practices for piping components
- Knowledge and familiarity of Navisworks
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office
