The LaPrairie Group of Companies is looking for energetic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as full-time Business Advisors at both our Grande Prairie, Alberta and Fort McMurray, Alberta facilities.The LaPrairie Group of Companies is a family-owned, diverse group of construction companies that have been in business for over 40 years in Western Canada. We are one of Canada’s largest independently owned mobile-crane companies, experts in oilfield trucking, heavy-hauling and picker truck services, specialists in proppant mining and production, and a major road construction and maintenance contractor.The Business advisor will support the Operations Management by maintaining and interpreting financial and production data, providing regular financial and operational reports, with the goal to enhance operational efficiency capabilities.Duties will include: * Track and interpret the business data by LaPrairie business locations for discussion and analysis with LaPrairie Operation Managers, with the goal of increasing efficiency and profitability.
  • Identify and evaluate operational data by business location with the Operation Managers to suggest improvements to optimize operation processes.
  • Prepare and review with Operation Managers revenue & expense reports, utilization reports by location, by customer contract, or by customer job quote.
  • Work with Operation Managers to analyze and strategize how to maximize profitability and performance while remaining on budget.
  • Review with Operations Managers and Owners customer pricing.
  • Track and analyze costs using relevant categories: equipment, manpower, permits, fuel, materials, supplies and facility costs.
  • Build Operational and Facility Budgets for each division / location based on historical data from previous expense reports, cost tracking and financial projections.
  • Review with Operations Managers customer pricing used in quote preparation and make recommendations for improvement and/or change.
  • Identify industry best practices and compare them to LaPrairie actuals.
  • Assist with other operational business processes when required.
  • Travel to each LaPrairie location on regular basis to meet with Managers and Operations Teams.
  • Become an integral, right-hand to each Operations Manager in each location.
  • Become a valued member of the Operations Team at each location.
