If so, then this opportunity is for you!Minimum Requirements:A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringSeven or more years in maintenance/reliability engineering, with experience in E&I engineering and high voltage electrical equipmentKnowledge of design, maintenance, testing and commissioning of E&I equipmentExperience with management of change (MOC) process and workflowExperienced in the application/selection and installation of field instruments and valvesRegistered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Alberta (APEGA)Responsibilities:Develop scopes of work keeping safety as top priority followed by reliability, quality and availability of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) assetsLead, implement and support techniques for bad actors; work with equipment history and life cycle assessments and perform equipment and system reliability assessments
Investigate equipment upsets and provide recommendations, while conducting root cause analysis as requiredAssess equipment reliability through the use of online condition based tools such as transformer oil analysis, partial discharge, I/R Corona scanning, online monitoring and offline testingProvide technical support for sustaining and major projects as well as commissioning (scoping studies and reviews, model reviews, document reviews, system studies, datasheets, detailed designs)Ensure systems are capable for new additions without impacting the capacity or operability of the existing systemDevelop E&I installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety standards, and various client specificationsLead and support electrical studies needed for regulatory compliance, sustainment of business, and project inputs.Review equipment strategies for failure modes, risks and mitigations, and recommend maintenance frequencies commensurate with business objectives.Participate as an active member of the risk review teams and provide leadership in loss management techniques such as the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) processLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Pipelines Voyageur site office North of Fort McMurray, AlbertaOccasional travel to remote locations is requiredHours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs; rotating on-call schedule for the evenings, weekends, and/or holidaysWhy Suncor?Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).
