Job Description:Data centers have stringent safety and security requirements related to the protection of their assets and their reputation, to the execution of policies and procedures, and to regulatory compliance. To achieve the right level of security, we help our data center clients identify the internal and external threats. We are seeking experienced security guards with a minimum of 2.5 years of security experience to help us achieve our client's security needs and be part of our team. At Securitas, our security teams are the backbone of the company and our most important asset.These positions are 80% sitting roles. You must be comfortable sitting for long periods of time.We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.The posting will remain open until filled.Position Overview:Wages: $19.86/hrShift timings: 0700-1500, 1500-2300, 2300-0700RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluates and escalates potential safety issues within the facility.
  • Identifies security shortfalls and offers suggestions from improving the security program.
  • Read and apply the Screening Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoint(s).
  • Require datacenter personnel to utilize metal detection and/or wand for entrance to and exit of secure areas.
  • Perform handheld wand searches and walk through metal detection searches.
  • Evaluates and escalates potential safety issues within the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Ontario Security License
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • 2.5 years or more security experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
  • Ability to travel to the site via transit or your own vehicle.
  • Be eligible to obtain a Reliability Clearance through the Government of Canada.
