We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator/Drawing Operator to join our clients dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience operating various machinery.The Drawing Operator is responsible for operating wire drawing machines to reduce the diameter of wire to required specifications, ensuring high-quality standards in the production of wire and cable productsSafety, quality and meeting production targets are essential aspects of this role. This position and department are critical to our clients operation, as it feeds the entire production process. This role is essential in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.Duties:
- Set up and operate wire drawing machines according to job specifications and work orders.
- Monitor machine operation to detect issues such as malfunctions, quality defects, or abnormal noise.
- Thread wire through dies and drawing machines, adjusting tension and speed as needed.
- Inspect finished wire for surface defects, diameter, and quality using micrometers and other measuring tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on equipment, including lubrication and die changes.
- Record production data, such as quantities, scrap, and machine settings.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and report mechanical problems to maintenance or supervision.
- Follow all quality assurance guidelines and ensure product consistency and accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or wire drawing environment is preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and technical drawings.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a production environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
