And the pay is very competitive!Minimum Requirements:Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) student with at least 1.5 years of chemical engineering studies completedA valid driver's license and a clean driving recordExcellent communication and professional skills: must be fluent in French (please submit your resume in French)Good computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel)Must be enrolled in an accredited academic institution and returning to school full time after the internshipResponsibilities:Perform engineering mandates: hydraulic calculations, control valve sizing, instrumentation, process condition validation, etc.Design and update computerized tools to monitor several parameters and improve models (e.g.: gasoline blends, railcar logistics, diesel qualities, and western crude influences)Evaluate the performance of process equipment (pumps, exchangers, furnaces, etc.)Assist in the evaluation of the performance of production unitsCarry out certain projects and studies aimed at improving overall performanceCarry out field operation surveysLocation and other Key Details:This is a 4 month work term starting in September 2024You will work out of our Montréal office, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street EastLearning environment surrounded by several disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, operation)Teamwork atmosphere based on mutual supportAbility to work in harsh weather conditions and at heightsWhy Suncor?Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).
