- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures are being followed.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and work orders throughout the plant, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with safety rules and standards.
- Conduct repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and systems such as Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and PLC.
- Perform weekly scheduled maintenance on planned shutdown in order to achieve plant and equipment efficiency as well as building maintenance, when required.
- Conduct routine plant inspections, identify equipment malfunction, and provide observations and recommend corrective actions to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform and/or assist in the testing and calibration of machines and equipment
- Abide by routine maintenance procedure and effectively utilize the preventative maintenance software in conducting service routines.
- Monitor spare parts inventory level and provide the Maintenance Supervisor with this information as reference for procurement plan.
- Comply with high standards for product quality, housekeeping, and sanitation in accordance with GMP, Food Safety and Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS) procedures.
- Maintain documents and records in accordance with all relevant Quality and Safety policies and procedures.
- Attend safety meetings, training and certifications as required.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician.
- Red Seal Certificate is an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Electrician, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Working knowledge and experience with Programmable Logic Control (PLC), VFD’s and troubleshooting, pneumatics, mechanical, hydraulics, rotating equipment, and electric systems.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-directed, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on a rotating schedule for after-hours calls and weekends.
