Read more and apply today.Your new roleAs a bilingual field medical advisor, you will drive regional medical affairs and payer strategy development across all current and pipeline assets within the cardiometabolic therapy areas. Acting as a connector and compass to work cross functionally to guide Novo Nordisk Canada to truly meet patient needs for sustained competitiveness and maximizing portfolio potential through successful strategies and competitive launches.As a Bilingual Field Medical Advisor (Cardiometabolic), you will:
- Act as a strategic partner in identifying, developing, and executing the regional cardiometabolic medical strategy and tactical plans.
- Lead Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, regional advisory boards, and consultancy meetings including identifying and communicating both national themes as well as regional specific differences
- Collaborate on region-specific projects such as clinical care pathway optimization projects.
- Identify evidence gaps for clinical and real-world research and input this to the right channels.
- Act as key point of contact for regional patient and professional associations relevant to the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
- May be requested to provide a French language review of promotional, medical, or communication materials.
- Act as the key point of contact to the patient access team to provide strategic medical input as well as develop and deliver medical content to payers and government stakeholders, including Canada's Drug Agency, INESSS Private payers and other relevant health authorities
- Train and support backups (e.g. Medical Science Liaisons) in payer strategy and presentations.
- Identify regionally specific areas of unmet learning needs and work closely with the Medical Education Lead and/or Medical Excellence team to ensure learning needs are addressed either through national or regional medical education programs, meetings, or symposia
- Contribute to the brand planning process to ensure regional needs are considered, included, and manage all regional projects including vendors and budgets.
- 3+ years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a medical, clinical, or HCP-facing role.
- Mastery of understanding, interpretating, and applying evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, especially regional differences and including the regulatory approval and national/regional re-imbursement pathways.
- Solid mastery of key regulations, including Health Canada Guidance, Innovative Medicines Canada, and PAAB.
- Relevant healthcare degree or a combination of relevant clinical and professional experience, including but not limited to MD, PharmD/Pharmacist, PhD, master's in science, or advanced nurse practitioner.
- Demonstrated excellence in medical communications (written and spoken) in both English and French with the ability to adjust communication style to different audiences.
- Former experience as a Medical Science Liaison and clinical practice experience are assets.
