Shift and Hours of Work: 1.0FTE - full-time - hours of work currently 07:30 - 15:45 (Summer); 07:30 - 19:30 / 19:30 - 07:30 (Winter)
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.
Closing Date: April 9, 2024Required QualificationsEducation:
- Valid Manitoba or Inter-provincial 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate to assume responsibility as plant chief.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Power Engineering field at the current level;
- Maintenance and use of fire protection and firefighting equipment;
- Maintaining all aspects of a Preventative Maintenance Program;
- Acceptable training and experience in the ongoing operation and maintenance of a large facility, preferably healthcare; and
- Experience in the use of personal computers and various software.
- Ability to evaluate necessary management information from a Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure required maintenance routines and repairs have been carried out, including knowledge of HIPPO;
- Ability to train and develop employees;
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing in both official languages (French & English);
- Ability to understand technical language & manuals;
- Demonstrated leadership in fostering an open and respectful work environment;
- Demonstrated independent and collaborative decision making skills;
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills;
- Must be in good physical and mental health;
- Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
- Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

- The ability to work within a team in establishing “best practices” within budgetary constraints; and
- Safe and proper methods of operating/maintaining and repairing structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in a large facility.
