Operations Field CoordinatorBC Eco is searching for an Operations Coordinator to join the Operations team based in BC. The position is a remote position and requires a 8:00 am to 5:00 pm presence, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday coverage. We are looking for candidates with experience in forestry, maintenance, and construction operations, client relations, and administration.The candidate is someone who likes to be challenged, has a strong focus on supporting multiple teams, and is flexible and adaptive. The job would require attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate and respond to changing information. The coordinator plays an important role in working with the Operations manager, GM, and up to 10 operations supervisors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Operations Manager, General Manager, and up to 10 Operations Supervisors in daily operations
Assist planners in building, updating, and maintaining operational schedules
Collect, organize, and file daily and weekly operational documentation
Coordinate communication between field teams, planners, and management
Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational information and priorities
Filing daily documentation for multiple sites
Book travel and accommodations for field personnel
Liaison with maintenance group for parts and Purchase Orders.
Book training courses for supervision as required
Review all Daily Supervisor Reports and coordinate information from them to various departments.
Foster a positive, safety-focused team culture while holding accountability for performance and results
Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, management, and client representatives
Travel regularly to various job sites across British Columbia and Alberta, including remote locations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Industry knowledge with wood chipping and log yard operations
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage operations across multiple sites simultaneously
Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset
Proven safety record and commitment to safe work practices
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and CMMS systems
Excellent scheduling, planning, and organizational skills
Knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN practices
Willing and able to travel regularly and work in remote field locations
Position may be remote based, with frequent field presence required
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
Physically fit and capable of working on uneven ground, chip piles, and log yard environments
Team-oriented, hands-on leader who leads by example
TRAINING / CERTIFICATIONS:
Occupational Health & Safety training (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
WORKING CONDITIONS:This is a primarily field-based leadership role with exposure to:
Standard work schedule of 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with some Saturday
Irregular workflow demands requiring flexibility and responsiveness
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer-based work
Remote work locations requiring frequent travel
High-pressure operational environments requiring sound judgment and adaptability
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Always lead and demonstrate safety by example
Ensure all personnel understand and follow safe work procedures
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas
Report, investigate, and correct hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
Ensure appropriate PPE is available, worn, and maintained
Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs as required
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, and equipment operation
