- Develop and implement the networking and telecommunications strategy, aligning it with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Ensure the networking infrastructure supports the growth and operational needs of the fintech organization.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the networking team.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of networking infrastructure across all branch locations in the US and Canada.
- Manage the organization’s telecommunication systems, including phone systems and VoIP solutions, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect sensitive financial data and comply with industry regulations.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and minimal downtime.
- Evaluate and integrate new networking technologies to enhance performance and security.
- Collaborate with branch managers and IT teams to understand and address networking and telecommunication needs at each location.
- Ensure all branch locations have consistent and reliable access to network resources and communication systems.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of networking equipment in new and existing branch locations.
- Develop and implement standardized networking protocols across all locations.
- Manage relationships with networking and telecommunications vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements are met and within budget.
- Develop and manage the networking and telecommunications budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures.
- Evaluate and select networking and telecommunication solutions that offer the best value and meet the organization’s needs.
- Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability.
- Ensure that all networking and telecommunication activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to network security and data protection.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for networking infrastructure.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and security.
- Work closely with other IT leaders and departments to ensure integration and alignment of networking services with overall IT strategy.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and network performance to executive leadership clearly and concisely.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
- Represent the networking team in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in networking and telecommunications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale networking infrastructure across multiple locations, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and security, and VoIP and telecommunication systems.
- Proven track record of managing vendors and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and optimize budgets, with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
- Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) or telecommunications.
- Experience with cloud networking solutions and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial services and data protection.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, MPLS, Webex, and other advanced networking technologies.
- Knowledge and experience in routing protocols OSPF, and BGP.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning in networking
