Technical Expert Senior, Engineering - Projects

• Influence Knowledge Domain (KD) mid and long-term vision.
• Influence KD strategy, objectives, be a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) participant for review with Fellows.
• Identify skills gaps within KD.
• Key SME participant in KD activities.
• Support Knowledge Owner with KD events.
• Influence, harmonize and prepare Bombardier Project Management policies.
• Educates other specialists within the group and wider on technical decision making and influence
• Provide recommendations for promotions from ES to SES.
• Propose the implementation of project management innovations based on knowledge of industry trends
• Recommend new cost-effective engineering solutions through Knowledge Domains and Programs
• Support Program and Project Requirements and needs analysis development.
• Lead and/or coordinate the A/C level or work package requirements and design solutions development through the various stages of requirements development and documentation, including coordination with other functions to ensure completeness and cohesiveness.
• Lead and/or coordinate the requirement Validation & Verification planning at A/C or work package level
• Lead and/or coordinate Problem Report investigations and resolution process for A/C level or work package issues from design, test, manufacturing or in-service issues affecting product certification, continued airworthiness or customer acceptance
• Responsible for A/C level or work package engineering planning and governance completeness
• Lead and/or coordinate and participate in Applicant internal or external program / project audits
• Collects, dispositions and communicates Lessons Learned within KD for community cross programs
• Lead and/or coordinate the PR investigation and resolution process for A/C level issues Customer Facing - problem resolution in support of Delivery and STC's & support to customer advisory councils
• Lead and coordinate Engineering Change planning, ensuring completeness, robustness and harmonization of implementation planning
• Participate in Commodity Strategy reviews with Sourcing
• Support Procurement for vendor discussions
• Support Legal on vendor claims
• Identify opportunities with Sourcing for program cost savings
• Witness selected testing, inspections, and/or audits as part of oversight on behalf of the Applicant

• Project Management process oversight and adherence to Technical Risk Level (TRL) requirements, Maturity & Exit Gate Criteria
• Validate processes & Knowledge Standards meet Best Practice
• Enforce adherence to BES practices and Knowledge Standards to promote product line integrity and consistency - May perform BES Champion role
• Lead problem solving in the Knowledge Domain across product lines
• Collect/Validate Lessons Learned in own Domain in support of Knowledge Owner
• Mentors Engineers from his/her technical discipline
• Recommend development action of SESs as part of PDP

• Bombardier experience and good working knowledge of BES (Bombardier Engineering System)
• Bachelor or master's degree in Engineering.
• Over 15 years or more of relevant experience in a specific aerospace engineering field
• Has experience on at least 2 or more development programs, through the various stages of the lifecycle
• Excellent multi-tasking, communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
• Advanced knowledge in a specific field and a breadth of knowledge of many aircraft systems
