The Opportunity:We are seeking a Senior Environmental Professional - Contaminated Sites to join our clients team in either Calgary or Lloydminster. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in environmental site management projects, particularly within the upstream oil and gas sector. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, timely, and compliant project outcomes. This role is ideal for a senior technical expert who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about mentoring others and driving meaningful environmental outcomes.What You'll Be Doing:
  • Collaborating with project managers to lead contaminated sites work
  • Providing technical guidance on the management of contaminated sites, primarily in the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Conducting senior-level technical reviews of regulatory reports, environmental monitoring, and closure documentation
  • Leading Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I-III) and developing remedial action plans
  • Mentoring and supporting junior and intermediate staff
  • Reviewing technical reports to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Participating in field work as needed, including site visits and providing direction to field personnel
  • Engaging in company and client-specific health and safety programs
  • Contributing to a collaborative, people-first culture focused on restoring and preserving the natural environment
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting or industry experience in the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Professional designation and ability to sign off on contaminated sites work in Alberta and Saskatchewan
  • Strong understanding of provincial regulatory frameworks for contaminated site management
  • Experience with Tier 2 guideline development, including pathway exclusions and site-specific guideline adjustments
  • Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) certification considered an asset
  • Experience with human health or ecological risk assessments is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) approvals
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to evolving project needs
