- Performs Magnetic Resonance imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals
- Ensures MRI Safety Standards of practice are followed at all times
- Operates, troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment
- Prepares written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
- Performs other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
- Attends meetings as necessary and is responsible for teaching, training, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
- Observes and understands Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and contributes to imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality
- Adheres to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Performs cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including call, evening, weekend, or night shifts
- There is a potential for overtime shift opportunities
- Certification by the CAMRT, current membership preferred
- Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- Cross-sectional Anatomy course, required
- Contrast injection course, required
- Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education as assessed by CAMRT and CMRITO
- One (1) or more years of recent clinical MRI experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation
- Demonstrated strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
- Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
- Ability to evaluate your quality of work and use constructive feedback to inform reflective practice
- Ability to learn new skills, and adapt to process changes
