As one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a savvy Field Retail Merchandiser (2 month contract) to join our growing team!We currently have a great opportunity where you will be a strategic partner bridging between our Buying & Sales teams and our customers. Working at store level with our customer, you as our Field Retail Merchandiser, will help merchandise Fresh Direct produce items, ensuring our products are displayed and replenished to optimize attraction and sales. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative and will have strong communication skills, and solutions drive focus.Primary responsibilities include:TACTICAL, STRATEGY, AND COMMUNICATION
  • Following planograms, create visually appealing displays of diverse Fresh Direct produce items and ensure proper rotation of products to attract customers and encourage sales.
  • Inspect incoming produce delivery for freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety standards, and proactively check inventory levels and place customer orders in a timely manner
  • Assist customers with questions, provide information about products, and offer recommendations.
  • Determine ideal produce items and prices for the customer to maximize sales and profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Plan and execute promotions, discounts, and marketing strategies
  • Analyze sales data, trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth in the produce department.
  • Communicate and build relationships with customer’s employees to ensure that we are exceeding the customer’s expectations.
  • Ensure to follow up and liaise with any customer issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • A min of 1-year solid hands-on experience working with fresh produce is ideal
  • Possess good sales and negotiation skills and able to multitask
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building is key
  • Able to lift a max of 30lbs
  • Effective business writing skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs
