The Moncton Hospital ~ Moncton ~ Horizon Health Network ~ Health NetworkLanguage requirement:English EssentialSchedule:Subject to change due to operational requirementsJob Classification:Health Information Professional 5 (HP05)Job Classification Type:MSPJOB PURPOSEThe Health Information Professional is responsible for ensuring that health record information is complete and accessible in accordance with departmental, regional and legislative requirements.QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful completion of a Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) recognized Health Information Management (HIM) program
  • Successfully challenged the CHIMA national Certification Exam / holds a valid CHIMA certificate and is a current member in good standing with CHIMA.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in the Health Information Management field and demonstrated supervisory ability is required.
  • Knowledge and competency in Excel as demonstrated through testing at an advanced level with an overall score of a minimum of 75%
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Health Information Professional 5 is responsible for:
  • Supervising one or a combination of sections of health information management department at a Regional level.
  • Administering performance appraisals and assisting in staff development and training.
  • Participating on committees and special projects.
  • Assist in health records software management.
  • Assisting in planning, organizing, and directing a health information management department.
  • Provide leadership and act as a resource in areas of data security, data integrity, electronic health records and risk management.
  • Represent RHA on provincial or internal committees and lead decision support or lead data quality coordinator for a regional health authority.
