Regional Fleet ManagerOur client is seeking a Regional Fleet Manager responsible for the strategic and operational management of the equipment fleet, including acquisition, lifecycle planning, maintenance coordination, and disposal. Serving as the subject‑matter expert across assigned equipment categories, the role ensures fleet alignment with customer requirements, operational objectives, and market conditions. In collaboration with Operations, Finance, Sales, and branch leadership, the Fleet Manager develops and implements fleet strategies that support organizational growth, safety, reliability, and profitability. This position may be based out of Calgary or Edmonton.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Develop and execute annual and multi‑year fleet plans aligned with branch requirements and market demand.
  • Recommend equipment makes and models based on safety, reliability, utilization, maintenance costs, and resale value.
  • Maintain an optimal mix of new and used equipment and establish replacement guidelines based on age, usage, condition, and repair history.
  • Manage OEM, dealer, and supplier relationships, including negotiation of pricing, warranties, and support terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage equipment concentration risk, and oversee used equipment sourcing and refurbishment criteria.
  • Oversee equipment disposition strategies, including timing, sales channels, and coordination with resale partners.
  • Partner with Operations and Branch teams to align maintenance priorities with availability targets and fleet standards.
  • Analyze maintenance trends and fleet KPIs, including utilization, availability, fleet age, and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure accuracy and continuous improvement of fleet data, reporting, and visibility across ERP and fleet systems.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Branch leadership with fleet capabilities, training, and new equipment introductions.
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in fleet management, sourcing, or equipment category management.
  • Equipment rental industry experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment acquisition, maintenance planning, and disposition.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems, reporting tools, and data.
