We are looking for a Technical Quality Assurance Lead for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.Role Description
Our client is hiring a business-focused QA Lead with Project Management Capabilities. The successful candidate will support the development, coordination, and execution of test strategies for their assigned programs/projects.Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the creation of the project technical environment for:
  • Setup a Test Automation framework to implement Test Automation with a new test tool;
  • Lead a technical team that consists of Test Automation developers, security specialists, environment readiness SME's and performance test specialists;
  • Develop test cases and test scripts as per the test plan for test automation;
  • Work with the functional test analysts to develop and verify the automated test scripts;
  • Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing automation process;
  • Report on deficiencies and testing progress.
  • Accountable for the execution of the test automation;
  • Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts;
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results;
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members;
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management;
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements;
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes; and,
  • Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL /Oracle/SAP HANA environment including validating stored procs, jobs and triggers.
  • Partner with the Project Manager and Test Leads:
  • To create an estimate for testing activities;
  • Contributing to and reviewing project documentation;
  • Accountable for the management of Test Automation Management tools for the project:
  • Create and setup project;
  • Manage user;
  • Train users;
  • Ensure tool is being used appropriately; and,
  • Create reports as required.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Technical Testing Lead experience.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area of study.
  • Experience developing test strategy, plans, test cases and test scripts.
  • Understanding of transition to operations best practices.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Software and Processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solution testing.
  • Strong technical skills in understanding database models, queries and technical tools required for testing.
