Start date is May 06, 2024 and will run until approximately October 04, 2024. Program combines online curriculum through VIU, and clinical practicum at Island Health Sites.What you need to know:

  • We are excited to announce that, Island Health is offering an employer sponsored education program to join our Medical Device Reprocessing team.
  • This program is full time employer paid. All tuition, fees, and costs of necessary books are paid for on behalf of the participants. Students enrolled in the program will also receive a weekly stipend.
  • Available to all existing Island Health FBA employees.
  • Our Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians work closely with the RNs and support staff to ensure instruments and equipment are ready for use when needed.
  • Our perioperative units are state of the art, and allow our multidisciplinary teams provide a comprehensive array of services across the Vancouver Island, with the Operating Room and Endoscopy department being our largest customers.
  • Successful participants are required to complete a six-month return of service period (ROS period) working as a MDRT at Island Health.
