Job Description:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Director of Financial Reporting to oversee financial reporting and compliance within our client. This role involves managing consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing technical expertise for complex transactions. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the success of real estate development projects while driving improvements in financial processes and systems.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis across various entities and projects.
  • Lead efforts to apply and maintain accounting policies aligned with relevant standards, including guidance on revenue recognition and asset classification.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, acting as the primary contact for auditors and advisors.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with statutory reporting requirements and filings.
  • Direct the consolidation process for multiple entities, joint ventures, and special purpose vehicles, including handling intercompany eliminations.
  • Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters for acquisitions, joint ventures, and other complex transactions.
  • Develop and oversee accounting policies for real estate development costs, including capitalization and allocation practices.
  • Implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance the efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Mentor and guide the financial reporting team while supporting system upgrades and data migration initiatives.
Requirements:· CPA designation required· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting leadership.· Strong IFRS financial statement preparation and consolidation experience; real estate development or investment experience is a strong asset.· Experience managing external audits and working with multiple stakeholders.· Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel; experience with reporting/consolidation.· Ability to explain and account for complex accounting matters.
