MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Works with electrical designers to detail electrical drawings and makes minor design changes from “Red Pen” modifications. Works with Technicians using electrical schematics during debug stages of the build process to verify designs and troubleshoot.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Installs and troubleshoots mechanical and electronic components of electrical equipment.
  • Tests electrical and electronic equipment for proper function.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots faults in electrical/electronic systems and equipment during power up. Repairs and replaces electrical and electronic components as required.
  • Works under the guidance of electrical designers to produce complete electrical design packages. This would include detailing of: schematics, cable routing diagrams, and panel layouts, based on ATS Test Systems standard specifications, and the customer's requirements.
  • Complete wiring diagrams, cable sheets BOMs for urethane connectors, and other special jobs.
  • Works under the guidance of electrical designers to verify that electrical design packages are complete, accurate and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards.
  • Works with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and technicians to solve problems in order to provide the customer with a complete functional system.
  • Works with other members of the electrical design department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating technology.
  • Provides customers with training specific to their current project. i.e. Electrical hardware, machine operation, programming principles, program functionality , and program structure.
  • Ensures that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS code of business conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
  • A college diploma as a mechanical or electrical/electronics technician or technologist with appropriate practical work experience.
Experience:
  • A sound knowledge of electrical circuits, and electrical troubleshooting skills are essential. A practical working knowledge of Autocad is an asset. Must be capable of designing circuits from sketches or verbal concepts. Must have a working knowledge of common electrical fabrication techniques including soldering skills, and use of hand tools.
