The Cahill Group is currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Manager to help ensure the successful execution of a major design-build project in St. John's NL. The position will include duties expected in a senior leadership role guiding the electrical department for a large multi-discipline project team.What will you do?

Help manage and oversight engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of all electrical services for a large institutional project under development in the St. John's area.
Provide leadership for project team members such as project engineers, coordinators, superintendents, designers, and unionized skilled trades.
Oversee design compliance for various building systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, controls, security, network, etc.
Ensure the implementation of required codes, standards, and client design and implementation criteria.
Address technical design inquiries in the field for various projects and maintain working relationships with the client and other subcontractors.
Guide procurement of all major engineered equipment packages and specified construction building materials.
Assist with preparation of estimates, budgets and schedules.
Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce system complexities and promote construction efficiencies
Regular communication and collaboration with client, design consultants, and General Contractor counterparts.

What will you bring?

Minimum 5 years related technical design experience
Minimum 5 years working in a construction environment
Bachelor of Engineering Degree or diploma in Engineering Technology, equivalent experience will also be considered
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with relevant national building codes including experience with fire protection, arc flash, and electrical design / installation standards
An understand of various design software with an aptitude to learn new technologies, experience working with BIM Modeling software is considered an asset.
Experience working in a major project organizational structure, and more specifically Public-Private-Partnership (P3) project models is considered an asset.
