Field Heavy Duty Mechanics at Finning are responsible for supporting our customers by: troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment in a field environment.We are seeking Red Seal Technicians who can hit the ground running. Job Description:Major Job FunctionsTrouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairsInterface with customers, products and sales supportWorking with the supervisor on various tasksProviding support with reference to on-site safety requirementsMaintain Finning Customer Service CommitmentVarious related duties as required**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement**Specific Skills & ExperienceJourneyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Red Seal endorsement)Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Duty TechnicianMust have experience with CAT equipment (servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining)Dedication to safetyStrong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbalUnderstanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an assetCompletion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an assetTeam playerAny future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.Note:Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is mandatoryDrivers’ Abstract will be requiredTravel will be required, overnight stays may be requiredStarting wage of $53.54 (probationary rate) - $55.51Condition of employment may be the ability to wear a respirator and obtain access to Customer SitesUnion Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
