B&B Contracting Group is seeking a dedicated Yard Support Person to join our growing company.The Yard Support Person plays a key role in supporting daily yard and warehouse operations by maintaining organization, assisting with inventory, and ensuring safe material handling. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to safety, and the ability to operate equipment to support the movement and storage of materials. The Yard Support Person works closely with Yard Supervisors and construction teams to ensure tools, equipment, and materials are readily available and in good condition.Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize the yard for optimal space utilization, ensuring materials and tools are stored safely and efficiently for easy access.
  • Assist with inventory management by performing spot checks, supporting inventory counts, and maintaining accurate stock levels of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate loaders and other yard equipment to move materials, assist with yard organization, and fulfill internal or customer orders.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance tasks to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition.
  • Support loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Prepare and stage tools, equipment, and materials for upcoming projects.
  • Assist in conducting routine yard safety inspections and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly, coordinating corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and warehouse areas, including routine cleanup of shared spaces.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide support to the Logistics Inventory Manager, Warehouse Manager and other team members as required to ensure smooth daily yard operations.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and basic record-keeping.
  • Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery used in construction settings.
  • Ability to safely operate loaders and other yard equipment (training or certification considered an asset).
  • Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction support role is an asset.
