Job DescriptionThe organization is seeking to engage a Technical Architect for various IT projects as described below.
The services of the Technical Architect will focus on an Asset Management Program - specifically, data architecture analysis, system mapping of current in-place platforms, and alignment with future asset management needs.
The anticipated project grouping is expected to span 12 to 24 months at approximately 15-20 hours per week, with potential extensions depending on future project approvals.Requirements
Respondents should only propose candidates who have been pre-screened and who, at minimum, meet all education, experience, and requirement criteria listed below. Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered. Respondents are requested to submit no more than their top three candidates.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Coursework in database management, data architecture, systems analysis, and computer programming is highly beneficial.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in areas such as database administration, data engineering, and programming.
Skills and Expertise:
Technical Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of data management principles and a wide range of technical proficiencies, including:
  • Data Modeling and Design: Designing and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Database Management: Expertise in relational and non-relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MS Access).
  • Data Warehousing and ETL: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and related tools.
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure) for building and managing data architectures.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, and Perl.
  • Data Governance and Security: Strong knowledge of data security, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and data governance frameworks.
Soft Skills
The role also requires strong soft skills to succeed in a collaborative environment:
  • Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Skilled in analyzing complex data challenges and designing innovative solutions.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead technical discussions in collaboration with project management.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including business and systems analysts to align data strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes, strategies, and goals to ensure data solutions support organizational needs.
