Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

- Provide leadership to the Telecommunications team and provide functional oversight of the performance of all discipline engineering.
- Supporting their corporate manager with career progression, mentoring, training, and development of the Telecom team.
- Manage workload forecasting, and engineering resource planning and provide support for recruiting and hiring.
- Identify team competency gaps and implement remediation strategies.
- Manage utilization of resources vs. workload.
- Champion for utilization of Wood processes and procedures while providing input for improvement. Assist in creating new procedures where required.
- Embed progressive learning within the team.
- Support Technical Assurance activities, including project quality audits and issue resolution.
- Collaboratively provide input to proposals.
- Drive HSSEA culture and performance throughout the team.
- Build an inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives and promotes continuous improvement.
- Electrical (Electronics & Communications) Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with the ability to register as an Engineer in Canada
- Strong leadership and relationship-building capabilities, mentoring, and coaching skills, along with excellent organizational and coordination skills
- 8+ years of engineering design experience in a Transmission and Distribution Utility or EPC organization designing substations
- 4+ years experience leading a project team is a requirement
- Experience in various telecommunications technology and standards such as DWDM, SONET/SDH, IP/MPLS, Microwave radio, WiMax, UHF/VHF trunk radio, Satellite, TDM/IP-Telephony, as well as fiber optic cable media such as OPGW and AD/ADSS.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now, or in the future is required
- Experience in PDS/SCS, CCTV/Security/Access control systems and PAGA is considered an asset.
- Experience with BC Hydro design standards and processes is considered an asset.
- Experience within project engineering of substation projects and interfacing with other substation engineering disciplines is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with utility operational practices as well as NERC Reliability Standards is considered an asset.
- Experience with outage planning, construction sequencing and commissioning is considered an asset.
