Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in North York, Ontario. In this role, you will manage payroll processes for a workforce of primarily long-term employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payment. This position requires expertise in payroll administration, benefits processing, and compliance with relevant regulations.Responsibilities:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll independently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage pension and benefits administration for employees, addressing any related inquiries.
  • Handle payroll for a small number of timesheet-based employees with precision.
  • Document payroll procedures and workflows for future reference and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare detailed reports as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related discrepancies or issues.
  • Utilize Dayforce software efficiently for payroll processing and data management.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing and organizing payroll documentation.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
  • Certification in payroll administration is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Dayforce or similar payroll software is required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll functions, including benefits and pension processing.
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems and payment processing procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and standards.
