As the organization evolves, the finance team is seeking an Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller (Bilingual) to support the Director of Finance in ensuring the highest standards of financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. As Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller, you will take ownership of core accounting functions, including month-end close, financial statement preparation, intercompany reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting. You will also play a key role in supporting forecasting activities, overseeing internal controls, and assisting with acquisition-related accounting.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the month-end and year-end close process
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Oversee account reconciliations and journal entries, including intercompany transactions
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation reporting
- Assist with external financial reporting and audits
- Support integration and accounting for acquisitions and other corporate initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing, with CFE completed)
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-branch or multi-entity environment
- Experience with ASPE and/or US GAAP financial reporting
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, IF, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP)
- Bilingual in English and French (Mandatory)
- Background in public accounting and/or field service organizations
- Demonstrated success in high-volume, deadline-driven environments
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
