- Negotiate grain contracts with a defined customer base to meet or exceed area financial targets and support company marketing plans and strategies.
- Execute and influence grain procurement programs within the assigned market centre to achieve budgeted volumes and margins.
- Manage customer contracts through logistics and contract maintenance, collaborating with Merchants, Market Centre Managers, and the Manager, Country Grain Marketing to ensure obligations are fulfilled.
- Maintain and analyze customer databases, including profiles, transaction histories, inventories, and reporting to prioritize customer engagement and identify opportunities.
- Manage key producer accounts by analyzing marketing practices and recommending best‑practice approaches.
- Assess current and emerging agricultural trends, collaborating with internal teams to develop strategies that create new marketing and procurement opportunities.
- Identify grain marketing opportunities, creating and implementing plans that support business growth.
- Build strong business partnerships with current and prospective customers, including targeted accounts aligned with corporate objectives.
- Develop, implement, and manage regional procurement and contracting strategies to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Deliver producer education sessions, including in‑person marketing meetings focused on market analysis and contract options, and provide value‑added learning opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend updates to marketing programs and service offerings.
- Maintain timely communication with producers to align strategies with customer and business needs.
- Achieve fiscal procurement goals using available contract options (e.g., Customer Basis Adjustment).
- Perform other duties as required to support customer service and procurement performance.
- Certificate in Agriculture, Agri‑Business, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or equivalent post‑secondary education.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture or a sales‑related customer service role.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer service skills, both in person and via phone.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with relevant business software tools.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
