Then, watch for a unique link in your email to apply.The student will be a key member of the Capital Markets Finance team, taking a role in preparation and analysis of information for the annual operating plan, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial results, and other operational finance requirements and projects. This role will offer a unique blend of financial reporting and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) experience.Responsibilities:· Work closely with Capital Markets Finance teams to provide financial advisory and support to help achieve financial targets, identify risks & opportunities, and provide high quality performance measurement analysis.· Provide financial analysis including operational performance trends, variance analysis against operating plan and historical results. Identify operational and strategic implications, and help to provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, recommendations, and key actions to business stakeholders.· Assist in developing and prepare a variety of management reports including reports to support Board subcommittee presentations, scorecards, trend analysis, financial analysis & modeling· Assist in coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial ledger close and financial reporting processes with other associated teams.· Assist in new deal tracking and cash forecasting with front office, operations and treasury and legal entity/statutory reporting for the various investment portfolios.· Participate in ad hoc initiatives and special projects as required.Qualifications:· Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business with a focus in Accounting (or Finance)· Strong interest in pursuing the CPA designation· Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (required), Power BI knowledge is an asset· Interest in capital markets, financial reporting, and FP&A· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail· Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines· Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervisionWhat’s in it for you· A team that is ready to focus on your growth and development· Continuous learning across different areas of the business· Opportunity to be part of the student community at OMERS & Oxford· An orientation program to set you up for success during your work term!· Networking and educational session with different leaders across the businessAs one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, our people-first culture is at its best when our workforce reflects the communities where we live and work — and the members we proudly serve.From hire to retire, we are an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection process that extends all the way through your employee experience.
