At TC Transcontinental, we lead the industry by cultivating a sense of belonging for all.We are currently seeking a full-time Finishing Assistant to join our manufacturing team at our Owen Sound facility. In this role, you will be responsible to assist operators and crews in the production of high-quality work through the safe and efficient operation of finishing equipment. Responsibilities:When your actions lead to success:
  • Piling down printed product
  • Understanding of how to read mail tags
  • Assist in operating Press equipment and ensure necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Support Press crews with equipment setup and shutdown (webbing up press, wash blankets, change ink, clean rollers and cylinders), paperwork, and operations.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Understand work order specifications and identify quality defects.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate constructively with co-workers and management to improve operations.
Qualifications:When your expertise drives us:
  • Basic computer, math, measurement, and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, stay on task, and prioritize safety.
  • Flexibility to support multi-shift operations
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly for up to 12 hours.
