You will integrate security best practices, collaborate across development, business, and architecture teams, and ensure robust documentation and monitoring. We’re looking for a technically skilled and collaborative engineer who can mentor and coach junior engineers day-to-day, responsible for defining design and software implementation best practices.This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Head Office in Vancouver, British Columbia and will report directly to the Lending Technology Senior Manager.How You'll Make an Impact:
- Implementing platform solutions that support lending workflows, leveraging SaaS and on-premises technologies
- Building modular, API-first platforms that enable rapid launch of new lending products (e.g., BNPL, small business loans, green loans)
- Designing and developing reusable components and APIs optimized for lending products and future Minimum Viable Products
- Integrating security and compliance best practices aligned with financial regulations into platform architecture and operations
- Collaborating closely with lending developers, product managers, and architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Automating and enhancing platform monitoring, availability, and performance for lending services using Splunk and other observability tools
- Troubleshooting lending platform issues and communicating effectively with impacted business and technology teams
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines for lending applications with version-controlled deployments
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members
- Defining design and software implementation best practices for the team
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5-8+ years of experience in platform engineering or DevOps, preferably in financial services or lending domains
- Required: Azure Full-Stack experience: CSS/HTML, REACT, Azure Web App Services, Java & JavaScript, Python, SQL/databases, Rest APIs
- Required: Azure DevOps, Agile development
- Nice to have: BE distribution systems using Python.net, Cloud experience
- Nice to have, experience with SalesForce or similar
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance for regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of API development and reusable component design for financial applications
- Experience with Splunk or similar monitoring tools for transaction-heavy systems
- Familiarity with SaaS and on-premises infrastructure solutions supporting secure financial operations
