As Press Technician you will oversee press production runs to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiencies are achieved, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Oversee and validate the set up and operation of your assigned heat set and/or coldest press.
  • Proactively plan and prepare for the all jobs scheduled throughout production.
  • Review the production order and ensure startup procedures at adhere to meet customer requirements. (layouts supplied, lap, stitch, checklist, etc.).
  • Operate printing unites and folder on automated web press in a coldest and heat set environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks. Clean sensors, check blankets, check folder, etc.
  • Check the condition of your press and notify Team Lead of any required work orders.
  • Communicate with co-workers and other departments for coordination of upcoming production runs.
  • Fill out the Press production report.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with double wide off-set presses is mandatory and 3 years in a progressive senior role.
  • Experience with Man-Roland presses is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability operating a folder.
  • Sound knowledge of the science of print, coupled with proven experience working with quality control processes and preventative maintenance programs is essential.
  • Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive planning experience.
  • Proven experience working in a deadline driven, pressured environment.
  • Must be available to work shift schedules and overnight shifts
