OverviewYou’ll be responsible for governing the content operations of a major client account, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging across the brand ecosystem, managing the content lifecycle and internal process documentation procedures, and liaising between teams and stakeholders. You will develop content strategies, define user experiences, and create scalable content that brings these visions to life on websites and other digital products. The job involves a clear understanding of the digital ecosystem and the important role content plays in driving performance.Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Content Designers, Product Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, Analysts, and Engineers to understand user needs, define requirements, and align on business goals.
- Develop and articulate a content strategy point of view, crafting clear and compelling narratives to influence product development from ideation to launch.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, end-to-end product copy and narrative journeys that elevate the user experience.
- Review and edit contributor work to ensure alignment with content best practices, brand tone of voice, and strategic objectives.
- Drive and execute content design strategies that align with business objectives and enhance the overall product experience.
- Define and create procedural documents to ensure contributors and collaborating teams follow optimized content governance practices.
- Partner with leadership to build and refine the content strategy for AI writing, prioritizing innovation and scalability.
- Mentor the team of Content Designers as a Subject Matter Expert, providing strategic guidance, actionable feedback, and subject matter support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Offer strategic clarity and focus for the team, identifying and removing barriers to success while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Document strategies with comprehensive guidelines, establishing and evolving best practices and principles for content design.
- Co-own and evolve content style guides, ensuring they’re comprehensive, up-to-date, and effectively adopted across teams.
- Champion content governance and consistency at scale, driving alignment and quality across the organization.
- Copywriting: crafting impactful and emotionally engaging text
- UX writing: functional copy that’s clear, concise, and leads to action
- Conducting content strategy activities, including: content inventories, heuristic reviews, competitive benchmarks, content guidelines, tone/voice/style, content governance & workflow
- Synthesizing research findings to identify key strategic tactics and areas of opportunity
- Contributing to project vision and roadmap from a content expertise standpoint
- Copy deck template ownership; facilitating content management and the involvement of other experts (product design, development)
- Creating optimized content (SEO/GEO, accessibility, content testing)
- Bilingual (French & English) with excellent English writing skills
- 5 years+ related experience and subject matter expertise in content design, strategy, and copywriting
- Strong organizational skills, governance abilities, and attention to detail
- A strategic mindset to go beyond project objectives and accomplish overarching goals
- Familiar with Miro and Figma (an asset);
- Google Suite power user (an asset)
- Understanding of SEO/GEO and familiar with writing copy to improve content performance
- Familiar with web accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.0 AA)
- Proficiencies in AI (using AI-powered tools, leveraging efficient prompts, etc.) and scoping for AI injection into workflows
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to work as part of a multi-location team
- Ability to take feedback and clearly communicate rationale for content recommendations or decisions
- Familiar with standard concepts, best practices, and workflows associated with content development
