- Sales & Client Development: Build strong relationships and drive sales by promoting our products and solutions to contractors, specifiers, engineers, developers, and distributors across diverse markets including commercial buildings, institutional facilities, specialized industrial projects, and residential high-rise developments.
- Strategic Market Engagement: Conduct market research to identify opportunities and competitive trends. Work closely with your manager to develop and refine strategic plans, sales goals, and territory forecasts specific to Southwestern Ontario's unique market landscape.
- Project Pursuit: Identify, track, and pursue construction, retrofit, and expansion projects across the territory's diverse sectors including institutional, industrial, commercial, and residential facilities.
- Product Promotion: Host presentations, conduct job site visits, attend regional trade shows, and lead training sessions to showcase our value proposition and differentiate our offerings throughout the territory.
- Distributor & Team Collaboration: Strengthen distributor relationships to deliver excellent customer service and collaborate closely with internal teams including engineering, inside sales, and customer support.
- Pricing & Specifications: Manage quotations and ensure they align with customer needs. Guide product specifications and support pricing strategies, recommending special pricing when appropriate.
- Industry Knowledge & Improvement: Stay informed on industry developments and competitor offerings. Participate in continuous improvement and communicate relevant training needs to management.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales activity, market intelligence, and project pipeline. Submit expense reports and progress summaries as required.
- Experience: 2-5 years of outside sales experience, ideally with contractor-focused experience in construction markets. Background in commercial construction, institutional projects, industrial applications, HVAC, plumbing, or pipe/valve/fittings systems is a strong asset.
- Relationship Skills: Demonstrated ability to build rapport with contractors, engineers, and distributors. A passion for customer service and long-term relationship development across diverse market sectors.
- Professionalism & Organization: Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to navigate diverse customer environments including institutional, industrial, and construction settings.
- Education: Post-secondary education (college or university) is preferred.
- Travel & Availability: Regular territory travel throughout Southwestern Ontario with minimal overnight stays required. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Some evening availability expected for client entertainment and relationship-building.
