- Maintaining professionalism and presenting positively to various stakeholders.
- Being able to interpret and create scopes for jobs.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to provide job updates and flag potential delays or issues early.
- Demonstrating skill in the safe operation of shop tools such as a table saw, skill saw, nailers, drills, etc.
- Entering material usage on Restorify to ensure proper billing and material inventory needs.
- Performing other repair tasks, such as installing drywall, baseboards/casings, painting, texturing, etc.
- Following all company policy and standards, including health and safety policies and procedures.
- Completing the necessary documentation related to a job to ensure a standardized flow to accurately accrue costs of a claim.
- Identify and proactively resolve deficiencies before final inspections.
- Coaching, assisting, and delegating other carpenters or labourers with job tasks.
- Practicing good housekeeping discipline on the job and in the warehouse.
- Dealing with a changing work environment daily and developing knowledge of various complex jobs.
- Understanding different municipal and provincial building code requirements relevant to a job.
- Using previous knowledge developed through experience to complete jobs in an efficient manner.
- Learn and perform cabinetry skills as required.
- Identify and proactively resolve deficiencies before the end of the repair phase.
- Completing your timecard daily on ADP.
Pro-Claim Calgary
- Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal) or work experience equivalent.
- Has a valid driver’s license and is willing to drive to different job sites during the day. Gas and vehicle allowances offered.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check to our approval.
- Must have a reliable truck or van that can carry up to 4’ x 8’ sheets of drywall.
- Experience working with cabinets (minor repairs, for example, installing gables)
- Experience with supervising or mentoring apprentices or junior team members is an asset.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Able to give clear instructions and help others learn on the job.
- Good with people — can speak politely and clearly to customers, co-workers, and managers.
- Can explain what’s happening on the job to someone who isn’t familiar with construction.
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment.
- Experience working in restoration (like water or fire damage repair) is a big plus.
- Practical knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance is preferred.
- Can lift at least 50 pounds and work in tight spaces, on ladders, or outside in different weather.
- Practical knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures is preferred.
- Owning your own tools (i.e., table saw, drill, nail gun, tape measure, miter saw, basic hand tools).
- Basic knowledge of the job is preferred, such as understanding measurements and materials.
- Able to use a phone, tablet, or computer to take photos, fill out timecards, or send updates.
