BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.PurposeReporting to the Superintendent Processing, the Surface Production Supervisor leads a dedicated team, work closely with stakeholders to meet all safety, environmental, and productions targets. The Supervisor provides coaching and develops the team to deliver high performance.About the RoleIn this role you will:
  • Supervise operational activities to enable the delivery of continuous safe operations.
  • Conduct routine operational and safety meetings to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload.
  • Promotes compliance of work instruction and operational procedures.
  • Conduct a detailed handover with the backshift Supervisor to ensure that all process conditions and safety concerns are known and understood.
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
  • Monitors end to end processing production performance and operating conditions to increase recovery, achievement of production targets and optimise inputs
  • Evaluates safety and operational performance and drives changes to maximise safety, cost and volume performance through processes, equipment and technology initiatives.
  • Promotes and embeds practices/tools that enable teams to proactively identify improvement opportunities and detect deviations within daily mining and production activities across a site.
About You
  • 5 + Years Potash Supervisor experience.
  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Prior experience leading a team or training experience is recommended.
