- Responsible for delivering quality solutions that will deliver the intended project benefits and are aligned with the HR Process Owner(s) for time tracking and payroll modules in Workday.
- Navigate the organization to drive process design in Workday by soliciting, analyzing, and documenting business needs and providing detailed system requirements. This includes preparing design documents and other technical documentation to support the business application. Design, configure, test, and document new solutions to meet the clients’ business requirements, needs, and objectives.
- Plan and support test execution by business owners/centers of expertise for change acceptances and sign off. Elaborate business test conditions and expected results for the system configuration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Sign-off on functional designs of integrations with Third Party vendors.
- Establish the needs for Change Management & Training in their area.
- Viewed as a subject matter expert in Workday for Time Tracking and Payroll Workday modules.
- Manage the Focus Group for their functional area: Facilitate user sessions, gather, and prioritize requests for enhancements coming from the McGill community.
- Oversee the adoption of Workday and of best practices across McGill’s community for time tracking (leveraging Workday reports).
- Manage the administration of processes and workflow within their functional area (e.g., monitor approval).
- Perform normal and complex configuration changes as required into Workday to support enhancements (business process, business rules, drop-down list change, etc.) and to respond and resolve system performance issues.
- Assess new Workday features related to time tracking, absence, and payroll as they become available and propose recommendations to the McGill Community.
- Plan and manage McGill’s Workday roadmap for time tracking and payroll.
- Develop new reports to support business operations.
- Create business requirement documentations and job aids for the delivered new functionalities.
- Excellent knowledge of HR and business processes.
- Experience in Workday Time Tracking and Payroll modules and strong knowledge of WD configuration
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the higher education environment and of its HR policies and procedures for both administrative and academic staff.
- Ability to understand process owner needs and requirements and make recommendations as appropriate.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Test management and test execution skills.
- Team player with ability to partner with peers when integrating functionalities across functional areas.
