Reporting to the Zone Medical Executive Director, the Site Lead is responsible for supporting Department Heads and Specialty Site Leads in ensuring that medical staff within the site are compliant with the Bylaws and Rules and regulations of Nova Scotia Health.ResponsibilitiesRole Accountabilities
1. Ensures that medical staff within the site are compliant with the Bylaws and Rules and regulations of the NSHA;2. Brings forward issues and perspectives of Medical Staff at the applicable site to the Zone Executive Director for consideration and/or resolution;3. Serves as Physician Lead for Emergency Preparedness activities;4. Attends regular department meetings and other committee meetings as assigned by the Zone Medical Executive Director;5. Participates in the monitoring of standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the site in the zone;6. Participates in any clinical services planning for the Zone;7. Participates in recruitment/retention activities for the department for the Zone;8. Participates in Leadership development and shows a commitment to lifelong learning and acquisition and refinement of leadership capabilities.9. Participates in addressing operational challenges in conjunction with operational co-lead and other relevant stakeholders.10. Attends meetings of the Access and Flow Network Council and contributes to the Network by sharing local context and by participating in the development of strategies, policies and procedures that promote increased access and flow of patients.11. Acts as the champion at the site for promoting and implementing best practices related to access and flow as determined by the Access and Flow Network. This includes working across all departments at the site and leading the implementation of policies and standards as well as evaluating their impact.12. Working with co-lead, responsible for developing and implementing a plan focused on improving access and flow for the regional site as well as surrounding area community hospitals.13. In collaboration with Zone Medical Executive Director, oversees the work of the Medical Education and Physician Advisor at their respective site.EligibilityMD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia HealthEvidence of past and ongoing leadership training.Annual Compensation: $60,000 (plus HST)Physicians in Nova Scotia provide fulfilling patient care which embraces family life, professional development and community involvement.
