Description :Toromont Cat is looking for a Shop Technician to join our team! As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components in our shop. Your day will include planning, trouble shooting and repairing, as well as, preparing necessary service reports for customers. We are looking for people who are interested in diverse product range. In a typical day, YOU will:
  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within the established standards
  • Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication
  • Undertake assignments as required in support of customer needs
Must-haves for this role:
  • Post-secondary education in a program related to heavy equipment, heavy vehicle or heavy engines mechanics
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as a technician in repair and maintenance of heavy construction or mining equipment
  • Red Seal license in heavy duty, heavy engine, heavy vehicle or truck & transport
